St Andrews Church is at the edge of Meadows in Edinburgh. The Orthodox community is very lively with people of all ages attending, especially families who just arrived and those who have been here longer. The majority of the members are Greeks and the rest are Russian Orthodox Christians. In this series I try to explore immigration and how culture is transferred from one country to another. In Orthodox societies like Greece all the customs and traditions are deeply linked with Orthodox religion. Even people like myself who do not believe in the existence of any higher power will follow traditions especially in Easter which is the biggest celebration in Orthodox Church. Because of that I chose to shoot this documentary at this high spiritual time of that particular religion in a city that has a very large population of Greek immigrants of all ages, students, professionals and families.
