Not here

'Not here' was a created as a way to come to terms with the loss of my grandfather and confront my denial regarding his passing. As I am living abroad I was not able to be present during his last days or his funeral and that proved to be extremely challenging for dealing with the event and mourning. Still to this day I have not visited his grave it is my own little protest to his death. However as the financial situation back home took a turn for the worse my family had to sell my grandparents flat which for me is not only a place of happy childhood memories but was home to the most influential person in my life. For this reason I decided to document it not as a mere record of memorabilia but as what it represents to me, a shrine dedicated to him and a constant reminder of his absence.
